APK’s albums, both solo and his collaborations, are all stunning pieces of art, ‘sound-paintings’ as I like to call them. And in my opinion APK’s works of art radiate a unique sound.. and that’s a big achievement I think, in this field of music.. With ‘Resolution’ this maestro kicks it up a notch! Wow.., without hesitation ‘Resolution’ is in my top-3 APK-(solo)albums.. There is so much going on and at the same time the whole album feels like there’s a perfect balance. The sounds are amazing.., and there’s a story going on within each track. It is an album you’ll want to play again and again. It leaves me speechless and clear-headed... Needless to say: another jewel in Dataobscura’s huge and impressive catalog! Berkdrums

Finally, new album from two absolute KINGS of pastoral-, and drone-ambient.. Unlit Passages is a stunning piece of work with an almost fairytale-kind-of-atmosphere. The titletrack sounds as if APK has his fingerprints all over this amazing start of the album. A haze of drones with very challenging and unexpected soundeffects. On Doubts the typical ‘The Winterhouse-sound’ has arrived.. A Long Arrival and Behind Closed Doors to me sound like they’re made from the same mold, and I mean this in a very positive way!! In A Long Arrival I love the kind of singing bowls-effects and gong-like sounds over these peaceful drones. In Behind..the mystical atmosphere that covers the entire album is again present, on all tracks there is also a constant motion, everything is moving, crawling, with stunning soundeffects or some beautiful melodic chords popping up.. this gives the album also a spiritual feel. On You Will Remain Here for me everything comes together in this stunning final track! A must-have-album!! Congrats Anthony & Robert!! Berkdrums

The best ambient takes you away to a place, either in memory real or imagined while simultaneously suspending time during listening. Robert's field recordings comparatively high in the mix with his synths create such an encompassing sound, that when you lock in transport is inevitable. DataObscura consistently releases this type of music. I will be exploring more for sure. Edward J Roller
